Splendour of the Valencian Baroque: the frescoes by Dionís Vidal, Palomino´s excellent disciple

Built next to the old Roman Decumanus Maximus, San Nicolás is one of the 12 parishes the Christian city was divided into in times of James I. The church, with its spartan Mediterranean Gothic structure and its Baroque layer, features magnificent frescoes attributed to Dionís Vidal that revolve around the life of San Pedro Mártir and San Nicolás. Let us decipher each and every of the majestic scenes that deal with the life of both saints and be surprised by works of great Renaissance painters such as Juan de Juanes or Rodrigo de Osona.
