The Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Valencia is one of the best examples of Mediterranean Gothic architecture. It was founded by Queen María de Castilla, wife of Alfonso V ´the Magnanimous´ and regent of the kingdom during the long absence of her husband. Complying with her will, the queen was buried in it, in a beautiful stone made sarcophagus, which converts the monastery into the only occupied Royal Pantheon located in the region.
